Dear friends and colleagues,

On behalf of the president of Thai Society for Biotechnology (TSB) and the chairman of the TSB 2016, I would like to welcome you to the 28th Annual Meeting of Thai Society for Biotechnology and International Conference 2016 in Chiang Mai during November 28-30, 2016. I would like to express my special welcome to friends from Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology Society of Taiwan (BEST). BEST and TSB have taken turn to join the BEST and TSB conferences since 2012 but this year, it will be the official participating under the Minute of Understanding between BEST and TSB which had signed on March 17, 2016.

In fact, since 1989 TSB has organized this annual meeting and conference which is the focal point for biotechnologists particularly for TSB members to come and update new research finding as well as catch up the technology trend from our keynote and invited speakers. This year Chiang Mai University is the host of the conference and the theme of the conference is "Natural Resources and Bio-based Innovative Products" where you will hear the world remarkable national resources and its innovative products.

Not only the academic updated at TSB 2016, the participant will be embedded to the largest and the most culturally significant city in the North of Thailand. Back in 1296, Chiang Mai was the new capital city of Lanna Kingdom where you can see the old town with remaining walls and moats. This city is not only unique in their culture and food offering but also rich of natural resources where you will enjoy the adventure and outdoor activities.

I am absolutely confident that you will be pleased at TSB 2016 with the warm welcome, academic accomplishment and unlimited activities offering by Chiang Mai city.

Looking forward to welcoming you all at the TSB 2016 in Chiang Mai.
